Review:
Overall, I liked the products that came with the bag. The bag itself is a little too crazy for my taste, and I'll probably end up giving it away or storing it somewhere, but it's cute; just not my style. After opening the pink Ipsy package, I immediately got a good whiff of the perfume, so it's a good thing I enjoy the smell. My usual perfumes are the fruity ones from Victoria's Secret, so this is a nice change. I'm not a perfume-junkie, and I almost always forget to put it on, but since I like this new smell, maybe I'll remember (that is, if I even go out). Also, I have yet to use the cleanser/makeup remover, but I'll try it tonight and see how it does. I recently just ran out of makeup wipes, so maybe this might be a good alternative.
The Tarte bronzer was definitely too light to be a bronzer for me, so I improvised and used it as a highlighter over my regular bronzer. It has a subtle golden tone to it, so it fits my skin color, and it's not too shimmery, but still gives off a good amount of shine. I'm excited to use it! For the video, I applied it to my cheekbones, on the bridge of my nose, and in the middle of my cupid's bow. It also claims to be waterproof, so hopefully that means I can wear it in the summer heat without worrying if my sweat will wash it off my face. The packaging had a little buffs on the top when it came in, so I'm thinking it either had a rough ride on its way to Hawaiʻi, or someone accidentally manhandled it when they were putting it in my glam bag. Either way, I don't mind too much, I just hope the next one doesn't have any serious damages.
The Eyetini eyeliner is a beautiful azure color. There were two things I didn't like about it: the fact that the color is called "Blue Hawaiian" (forever rolling my eyes) and that the tip of the eyeliner broke after my first application. It's not so bad that it broke; I just need to lighten my grip, I guess, and then keep using it at an angle to remake the shape, but it's too bad. You get about an inch of eyeliner, and I don't really use bold colors as eyeliner, but I think it's a great supplement to my regular eyeliner routine, especially for the summer. It's a POP color that definitely makes a statement, so use it well!
The Be A Bombshell Lip Balm is probably my favorite from the glam bag, just because I'd been meaning to get a new lip balm, and also it has a nice tint that I don't need to apply with another lipstick, and it shines and moisturizes the lips. There's no weird smell; it's just a really simple, but useful product for me.
Here are the swatches from left to right: Tarte bronzer, Eyetini eyeliner, and Be A Bombshell lip balm. You can see the bronzer is very light on my skin, hence the using as a highlighter. The eyeliner really comes out, especially on my dark skin, so I definitely recommend for darker skin tones with this color. And there you'll see the red color of the lip balm.
I didn't use any foundation in the video, since it's way too hot for that, but I think I created a pretty nice and easy summer look!
